From the above two comic strips, it is seen that Hobbes is the most optimistic person and does not care about what the society thinks about him or anyone. All Hobbes desires is happiness. Hobbes lives a simple life which makes him see the brighter side of each thing. Hobbes' behaviour is also an interpretation that humans are more mundane while animals are simple beings. Calvin being a human would desire riches while Hobbes, a simple being would rather desire a open, sunny field where he can run around freely.
